Expanding the floorplate, opening up new ways of working

This workplace was designed to expand the existing floorplate and support new ways of working, deeper collaboration and richer client engagement. Delivered within a fully occupied building, the project demanded precision and flexibility, with carefully managed phases keeping Schneider's day-to-day operations uninterrupted. Taking the scheme on from Stage 3, Woodalls adapted the inherited design for an occupied refurbishment, working with the architect to make it buildable, efficient and cost-effective and unlocking significant budget savings. Removing a demised wall created a larger, more connected floorplate.

Guests and employees are welcomed by an inviting reception of bold lighting and a confident, client-facing environment that puts Schneider's technologies on display from the moment of arrival.

Architectural References

The workplace flows beautifully, with gently curved walls and flexible spaces that shift from individual focus areas to open group project zones, reshaping around how teams want to work.

Material Palette

A striking palette draws attention to Schneider's own shade of green. Moss-green tiles complement the planting throughout, while pops of warm, peachy tones balance the scheme into an energising atmosphere, a world away from a conventional office.

An expanded floorplate built for connection

The expanded floorplate makes this space feel connected and alive. Woodalls made the design not only beautiful but efficient and cost-effective, removing barriers to encourage collaboration between previously separated teams. Four flexible meeting rooms with folding walls transform from intimate breakouts into large event areas, letting the business flex from focused sessions to all-hands gatherings. At its heart is the Innovation Hub, a client-facing environment showcasing Schneider's technologies and designed for talks, demonstrations and real-time engagement. Behind the scenes, specialist systems were woven into a single intelligent network requiring precise, phased commissioning.
