Blackthorn required a new office near the riverside in the West End. The front of house needed to reflect the technical aspect of their core business and they were looking to incorporate flexible open-plan office arrangements that would support a progressive, communicative working environment, while allowing for quiet and concentration. Security was a big issue for their forensic laboratories in particular.

Getting to know the company’s working relationships was critical to achieving the balance. Blackthorn’s building had a large footprint; the office space plan contained minimal effort and zero impact on working relationships. They could, if needed, free up space to sublet in the future. We installed all the necessary security measures they needed to protect the various laboratory areas and came up with a concept for reception and the client-facing zones that played to their technological strengths.
